2. Immigration vs. Relocation: What’s the Difference?

  • Immigration = Permanent move, pathway to citizenship.

  • Permanent Residency (PR) = Express Entry, Provincial Nominee, Family Sponsorship, Refugees.

3. Pathways to Canada

A. Temporary Residency

  • Visitor Visa (TRV) – up to 6 months, no work.

  • Study Permit – attend a Canadian school/university, may allow part-time work.

  • Work Permits – employer-sponsored (LMIA), intra-company transfer, or open permits for spouses.

  • 🔗 Apply for a Visitor Visa (IRCC)

B. Permanent Residency (PR)

  • Express Entry (Federal Skilled Worker, Skilled Trades, Canadian Experience Class).

    • Proof of funds for 2025:

      • 1 person: $14,690 CAD

      • 2 people: $18,288 CAD

      • 3 people: $22,483 CAD

      • (up to 7+) → $38,875 CAD

4. The Steps to Take

  1. Choose your path – work, study, or permanent move.

  2. Check eligibility – score calculators for Express Entry, or employer sponsorship for work permits.

  3. Gather documents – passport, education, language test (IELTS/CELPIP), proof of funds.

  4. Apply online through IRCC.

  5. Wait for Invitation / Decision – PR invitations take months; visitor/work permits may be faster.
